An Unorthodox Approach to Wound Care
As an aside I would like to point out that I did something a little unorthodox with this fellow because of his lack of means and I knew that if he was eating anything it was not healthy.

When I bring him his amnion grafts I also bring him a six pack of sardines. Now I call sardines a vitamin pack in a can because sardines have all of the nutrients necessary to heal something to make tissue healthy. Minerals the right kinds of fats proteins.
So I also instructed or maybe I can even use the term I prescribed for this fellow to eat his sardines instead of his cereal and that may have been contributory to our success.
Sardines are cheaper than amnion. Each and every time we have a conversation I think the conversation always goes to that subject eventually but I have made a resolution to feed my patients sardines whenever possible as part of their wound care regimen.
I have to tell you that my patients are surprised when I say that. Too many of our diabetic patients do not realize that cereal is not good for them. I am sorry to the cereal manufacturers but I would much rather see a patient eat an egg than a bowl of cereal.
All I can say is I do not believe that God put any sugar in sardines to the best of my knowledge.
